^^ thank you!! i appreciate the interest, and an honest reply! uhm, the charcoal i use is compressed, its sort of like soft pastels, except charcoal - i don't actually use pencils, and when i do, they are much too hard for me - so i can honestly say i admire your using them! by vine charcoal sticks, do you mean willow?

np.:) Its funny tho, im just the opposite concerning pencils....i much prefer them because i think ive fooled myself into thinking i have more control over my lines....atleast thats wut i keep telln myself...hehe.....o yeah, ur right, the sticks are burnt willow branches...ive only heard them referred to as vine so i had to actually read the package....thx alot for the interest and the kind words....;)

^^ your welcome - and i'm naturally a curious person, so you'll get many a question from me! see, my issue with willow is that you can't smudge it as much - can't get the matted black effect you get from compressed. plus, i started the wrong way - i used compressed before i used willow, its usually the other way round, because if you make a mistake you can still rub out the majority of willow. hehe, its funny, i've never heard them referred to as vine!
